Why Women Must Lift Weights
Updated: Jul 21, 2020
Muscles are the foundations of a great body. They create shape, a more confident posture and increase your metabolism. Women wanting to look better-naked read on...

"Never sacrifice getting stronger for being a burpee queen" - Jim Wendler
I think we're so fortunate to be exercising in time where weight training in women has become so common and so normal
Women left, right and centre are popping up in weights rooms, finally proving that the dumbbell rack doesn't just belong to their hairy counterparts
I think we're also so lucky that the notion that weights turn women into Hulk Hulgan like characters, with jagged jawlines and bulging shoulder muscles is out-dated nonsense
The bottom line (without sounding like a motivational T-shirt) is strong is sexy
And your goal should always be to get stronger
(By the way, when I say strong, I mean toned. Toned is a word females have adopted to make "getting strong" sound less scary)
A toned body is a strong body
Let me quickly clear up why you won't look like Arnie from lifting weights

HOW DO SOME WOMEN GET SO MUSCLY?
Just like male bodybuilders, females also compete in the sport (although it's far less common now as there's been a huge rise in "Bikini shows")
These are the women most females have in mind when I mention weight training
Now, these women are athletes. They are at the absolute top of their game.
For a female to pack on that much muscle and be that damn strong involves 3 crucial elements:
They are weight training consistently
They are eating a huge amount of calories and protein
They're taking steroids
Anabolic steroids are an illegal substance that increases your testosterone levels
Testosterone is what makes men.. men
It's what gives me an Adam's apple, a deeper voice and when I'm 60.. hairy knuckles
Testosterone is absolutely vital to building muscle (hence why ladies inject it into their bum cheeks)
Without me getting into the nitty-gritty aspects of testosterone, females simply don't produce enough testosterone to ever produce much muscle mass
(If you'd like to learn more about testosterone in women, read this)
Women have about 10% of the testosterone that men do
So don't EVER worry that weights will make you bulky because in truth they'll do the exact opposite
And also appreciate that the female bodybuilders we're referring to don't look like that by accident. Years of ridiculously hard graft went into crafting their bodies
With that out of the way, let me show you why you should be lifting!
WHY SHOULD WOMEN GET STRONGER?
1.SHAPE
Muscle creates curves. And curves in the right places too
A stronger body will have firm thighs, a shapely bum, a tight waist and a defined upper body
Shape is what makes women look amazing naked
Please note that cardio will never achieve these results. Cardio is a helpful tool for getting leaner, but it's the weights that produce results like these

2. CONFIDENCE
A stronger body is a confident body.
Imagine less jiggle, a tighter waistline and a taller posture.
These are the marks of a super confident person!
Love being naked - Learn to lift!
Getting strong is also a huge accomplishment! Think how proud you'd feel every day
That's what confidence is and that's what weight training will do for you
3. INCREASED METABOLISM
We refer to muscle as "expensive". It requires a lot more calories to maintain than fat
What does that mean?
Once muscle is built you need to eat more calories to maintain it
So if you like eating, or you find it hard to keep fat off, by increasing your bodies muscle % will help keep you leaner all year round
Think about it like two cars. One's a Smart car the other is a Ford Mustang. They've both stopped at a red light
Which one will be burning more fuel in idle?
The big beefy Mustang yeah?
That's what weight training can do for your metabolism
4. POSTURE
Posture is sexy
The image below. Which looks younger, more attractive and more confident?

Chyeah, that's right
Also what the hell is she wearing?!
Strength training correctly will help you to stand taller and more proudly
Along with a lot of health benefits, you'll look and feel so much better by standing tall
5. IMPROVED GENERAL FITNESS
Strength training will also improve your bone density which is vital with age
It will improve your quality of life as you can move better and lift heavier things during the day like your children or the weekly shop
It will mildly improve your day-to-day mobility. Getting in and out of the car, standing from sitting and general tasks will appear easier
Plus it will reduce the risk of various heart diseases, cancers, diabetes and osteoporosis (which is pretty handy)
CONCLUSION
Getting stronger is and should always be your number 1 training priority
Alongside a much more confident and attractive you, expect to feel better, perform better and stand better
The benefits of strength training really are staggering and I really encourage you to get stuck in
